I felt so dumbed when Joal proposed to me (heheh). I didn't know that the engagement ring was on top of the dessert. The Jewel box staff were even more excited than me. This is the story:
Joal & I were supposed to eat the whole course of meal inside the cable car. A table is set inside and the food would be served as we passed by the Jewel box station. Before we get inside the cable car, Joal asked me if I want to take the dessert in the restaurant or inside the cable car. I said that we try the restaurant since it has an open view of Singapore skyline and also had a cool, romantic setting. After an hour of finishing the soup and the main course, we were transferred to Jewel box restaurant and were greeted in by two smiling staff and lead us to this very beautiful, romantic seats. After a few minutes, the staff served us our 3 desserts: 2 apple crumble and 1 truffle cake with a candle. The desserts were supposed to be 2 apple crumbles only but I decided to order a truffle cake for Joal to blow a candle. I was surprised by the waitress to ask us if she could take our photos which I find ironic because Joal's tripod is already set infront of us (so we don't need her to take our pictures anymore). But then we agreed and here's the picture.
After that the girl took the photo of the apple crumble in front of me which I found very strange because there were 3 cakes in front of me, and she must have taken the photo of the truffle cake instead because it's Joal's birthday cake. So all the while I was just looking at her, wondering what she was thinking and seemed so excited. Joal, on the other hand, thought that I already saw the ring, took the dessert and put it near my face. I was stunned and I coudn't believe what I was hearing.

It was the best experience ever. I don't know how to describe the feeling. I have known Joal for 38 months and during those years, all we knew was to love each other unconditionally..we never fight we just knew how to give and take..we were so attuned to each other and share the same passion for travel, food, movies and art. I couldn't ask for anything more. He is more than I could ask for.
The time ran fast. I didn't know how long I was embracing him. I knew he was waiting for my answer and I'm humbled. I don't know what I did to deserve such an amazing man and experience such a wonderful moment. But whatever it is, I said, "Yes, my baby."
(I thank my fiance Joal for allowing me to experience this kind of feeling. It's indescribable, I guess it's the same with him. I appreciate all the efforts of finding the right ring for me... and for spending so much. I promise to take care of him and love him for the rest of my life. I just can't wait to be Mrs. John Alexander Tom next year.)
