On 080508, I said Yes

I felt so dumbed when Joal proposed to me (heheh). I didn't know that the engagement ring was on top of the dessert. The Jewel box staff were even more excited than me. This is the story:

Joal & I were supposed to eat the whole course of meal inside the cable car. A table is set inside and the food would be served as we passed by the Jewel box station. Before we get inside the cable car, Joal asked me if I want to take the dessert in the restaurant or inside the cable car. I said that we try the restaurant since it has an open view of Singapore skyline and also had a cool, romantic setting. After an hour of finishing the soup and the main course, we were transferred to Jewel box restaurant and were greeted in by two smiling staff and lead us to this very beautiful, romantic seats. After a few minutes, the staff served us our 3 desserts: 2 apple crumble and 1 truffle cake with a candle. The desserts were supposed to be 2 apple ...

It's a YES!!!!

It was the happiest moment of my life when i heard her say "Yes my baby" my plan turned out as i planned, there were moments when i thought she already knew i was going to propose that night because of my own doing hehehe, First i would like to thank Carlsten and Rachel for helping me find the perfect engagement ring, to Hearts and Arrows ( Robinson Galleria Branch ) for the effort of finding the exact ring size and design within a day which normaly takes 1 to 2 weeks preparation. To my mom for her blessing. To tita raquel and tita becky for being so supportive and making me feel welcome to their family. To my bosses for allowing me to take a leave to be here on singapore on my birthday-proposal. i would like to thank the staff of Sky dining and Jewel box for making my wedding proposal a success, im sure we will be back again to thank personally everybody for their help. I planned this on my birthday so that she couldnt refuse :-) and even thought of jumping out of the cable car if she...

07may08 - The Night before the B-day

I'm at home killing time over the net. Later at 10:30pm, I will leave the house to wait for Joal's arrival at the Changi Airport. Like him, I am over-excited to see him. I have not seen him for more than a month..seeing him on the webcam takes my loneliness away. His face is like a dew drop in the morning, always fresh..always smiling. But love is intensified by absence. All I could think of the whole day is him..I always dream of being with him.

And now that he's coming back to see me, I can't be happier. I know how long we've waited for this. My excitement is something hard to define. I can't wait to hug him.

I was surprised to find out about his entry. I knew he couldn't sleep last night but I didn't know that he wrote an entry. We're so excited, I also couldn't sleep since last week except last night. My love for him is overflowing. I'm so lucky to have found someone like him. He is so perfect and we get along very well together. we have a lovely relationship and I couldn...

Kuala Lumpur 2008

We thought we wouldn't be able to purchase 2 tickets to KL anymore as almost all the buses we knew were fully-booked until we chanced upon Allisan who had a 12mn trip. It's a 5-7-hour travel time so we'd practically spend the night on a bus.

We travelled that far for Petronas, actually...yes that's the only reason. Anyway, the experience was great..it's all worth it, plus it's Free. Of course we admired the structure of the twin towers, who wouldn't be? We appreciated it more when we found out about its history. We were just left disappointed because we thought we'd be able to get to the top floor, but the trip took us only till the skybridge which is on the 41st floor. The trip would consist of queueing as early as 7am, waiting and waiting then they'll let you enter at around 9:15am, depending on what batch you'll be in. By 10am, everything is finished. It's just as fast. But as I've said it's all worth it.

Coron 2nd Anniversary

DAVAO OR PALAWAN? These were the choices we had on our 2nd anniversary. Davao famous for Pearl Farm. Disadvantage, can't think of any. Palawan is known for its virgin beaches, world class dive sites, colorful corals, simple living...But its also known for abu sayaff (because of the kidnaping), malaria (the death of the son of a known broadcaster). We really wanted to experience diving despite fear from A sayaff and malaria but we still chose Palawan. Little by little through research from the net and interviews from friends A syaff and malaria were far from were we are going ( Coron Palawan ). Coron Palawan is on the upper most tip near Negros. I even consulted a doctor for a possible Anti malaria shot but friends of mine who went there did not take any, so did we. Next came what airline to chose..Asian Spirit (Fly as Asians and land as Spirits..hehehe) or Sea Air ( Leave on Land and land on Sea..;) )We decided to take Sea Air, it was more expensive means it is reliable and safe. The d...

Valentine's Day 2008

This is our 3rd Valentine's together, our first Valetine date was in Cafe Breton in Greenbelt 3, 2nd was in Bubba Gump, we loved it so much that we decided to eat there again for our 3rd valentine date. The special day again fell on a week day, after office hours i would always hope that there would be no traffic jam from Calamba to Makati, but this year SLEX is in rehabilitation, i anticipated the problem so i left early at around 4:00pm. i was already on the highway when what i feared happend...i thought i woudn't make it on time for our dinner, but i arrived at around 8:00pm. My usual travel time of 1-1 1/2 hrs took me 4 hrs to get to Makati that nigh!!! But to see Valerie that night was worth all the traffic jams of metro manila combined. She looked beautiful and glowing with her beautiful smile. Again i had to hide the bouquet of flowers from her sight before we meet, i was successful in suprising her yey!!! you could see below the pictures of the food we ate. The shrimps and chee...

Family & Relatives' Trip from Tagaytay to Batangas

We ended the year 2007 with a family trip from Tagaytay to Batangas. Our first stop was in McDo expressway where we had our breakfast. Going to Tagaytay won't be complete without going to the picnic grove. We were supposed to go to People's Park but changed our minds and went to Caleruega instead. We didn't know that Caleruega was such a lovely place. The garden was filled with flowers, the pond was so clear you can see the koi fishes, and of course how could we not enjoy the

AVENUE Q in MANILA

After its recent sold-out run, Atlantis Productions' hit staging of the Tony Award Winning Broadway Musical AVENUE Q was back in Manila to re-spread some holiday cheer at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza. Winner of the 2004 Tony Award for Best Musical, AVENUE Q is most accurately described as a cross between SESAME STREET and RENT.

Since Joal and I loved the RENT, we knew we would likewise love this show. And we're right! We enjoyed AVENUE Q so much that we kept on talking (and even singing some of the lines) about it until we got home. We liked the songs "It sucks to be me," "Schadenfreude," and "Internet is for porn." The show was great rioutous fun. We think people who grew up with Sesame Street (or even Batibot) will share our amusement about the show.

AVENUE Q is a mature take on the universally loved puppets and issues like quarter life crisis, racism and pornography are tackled with much humor; but still parental discretion is advised.
